About the job

Royal Jordanian is seeking a Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Engineer responsible for supporting the maintenance, monitoring, and reliability of Ground Support Equipment. The role focuses on ensuring equipment availability, troubleshooting technical issues, and coordinating maintenance activities in line with company and manufacturer standards

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the operational and technical status of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and maintain accurate maintenance records and technical history.
  • Plan, coordinate, and follow up on maintenance activities to ensure maximum equipment availability and minimum downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system malfunctions using manufacturer manuals and technical documentation.
  • Monitor GSE fleet repair progress and prepare periodic status reports for equipment under maintenance.
  • Record and track non-routine maintenance activities, deferred repairs, and corrective actions.
  • Review, update, and maintain maintenance tasks, work orders, and technical documentation within the TRAX system.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams and relevant stakeholders to ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
  • Prepare spare parts requirements, initiate requisitions, follow up on orders, and support inventory planning activities.
  • Ensure the availability of maintenance tools, service supplies, and materials required for planned and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Monitor compliance with manufacturer recommendations, maintenance procedures, and Royal Jordanian safety requirements.
  • Support preventive maintenance programs by ensuring the proper selection and use of lubricants, coolants, filters, and other maintenance consumables.
  • Maintain maintenance documentation, service agreements, technical reports, and related records.
  • Support technical training and on-the-job development initiatives for maintenance personnel.
  • Report technical issues, safety concerns, incidents, and operational risks to management as required

Skills

Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Strong communication skills in both written and spoken English.
  • Knowledge of maintenance planning, troubleshooting, and repair processes related to Ground Support Equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, hydraulic schematics, pneumatic diagrams, and electrical diagrams.
  • Knowledge of spare parts planning, inventory coordination, and maintenance documentation control.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and coordinate multiple activities in a dynamic operational environment.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or any related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in maintenance, engineering, or Ground Support Equipment operations
