Cargo Commercial Senior Officer

About the Job    

The Cargo Commercial Senior Officer supports the daily cargo booking and sales activities by coordinating shipment reservations, assisting customers and freight agents, and maintaining accurate booking records. The role supports cargo capacity utilization, follows up on customer inquiries, and contributes to delivering reliable cargo services.

Main Duties 

·        Receive and process cargo booking requests and inquiries from agents, including airway bill details, weight, number of parcels, dimensions, destination, delivery date, and commodity details, after confirming aircraft capacity availability and updating all required information in the cargo system.

·        Handle customer calls and process valuable shipment bookings, ensuring accurate data entry into the cargo system and confirming reservations based on available flight capacity.

·        Communicate available cargo capacity on freighter and passenger aircraft to agents, outstations, and handling agents for sales opportunities.

·        Coordinate and manage offloaded cargo arrangements by securing the earliest available flights and notifying concerned parties through email with offloading reasons and forwarding details.

·        Support achieving cargo sales revenue targets and annual commercial objectives.

·        Maintain regular communication and follow-up with agents, freight forwarders, potential customers, and cargo outstations through calls and sales activities.

·        Monitor cargo volumes on incoming flights and support initiatives to improve sales performance on low-volume routes.

·        Coordinate with cargo handling outstations and maintain daily communication with Royal Jordanian suppliers.

·        Support mail and courier sales activities while ensuring on-time performance.

·        Monitor market trends and competitors’ services to support improving Royal Jordanian cargo services and increasing sales opportunities.

·        Identify potential markets and business opportunities to enhance cargo sales channels.

·        Proficiency in English language.

·        Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

·        Good organizational and time management skills 

·        Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

·        Teamwork and ability to work under pressure.
